PRESS: Business France may resume work in Russia in Sep–Nov

MOSCOW, Jul 18 (PRIME) -- French agency for support of trade and investments Business France may hold a tender to represent its interests in Russia already in the autumn and resume work under a new basis within the Russian legislation, Kommersant business daily reported Wednesday citing a French diplomatic source.

“Already this autumn the French agency for the development of economic activities of French enterprises on the international arena, Business France, may hold a tender to represent its interests in Russia,” the daily said. “Thus the Russian representation of Business France may resume its operations, but outside the French embassy.”

The French embassy in Moscow earlier announced the closure of its representation for trade and investments, ensuring operations of Business France in Russia, from Monday, as Business France “is not allowed to operate in Russia within the French legislation.” The Russian Foreign Ministry said it continues to support development of trade and economic ties and supports operations of authorities aimed at their further expansion in Russia, but on conditions of strict compliance with Russian laws.
